New Look News letter

Apologies first of all for the lateness of this news letter, Because of the lack of news it takes some filling up with useful information. But now it's back you will notice a few changes to the layout.

Firstly there's the new logo. Secondly We are trying a new font to try and make the reading a bit easier. We are also trying one or two other ideas on how it should look so if you have any ideas please feel free to contact Stuart by phone or e-mail and let him know what you would like to see. We will also be including photo's as soon as we get the look right.

Social Evenings

I am pleased to say that the social evenings are attracting more and more people every month. We have had some fantastic acts already this year and hope to keep up the good standards.

The entertainer at the last meeting was, Daniel DeFoe, A brilliant singer and a good laugh. He even managed to get me up on stage to sing a couple of songs with him (Thanks to one or two audience members for volunteering me) I eventually got the notes in the right order. He also picked on our ambulance drivers who gave us a superb rendition of " We'll meet again". Again I would like to thank you all for your support at these meetings.

Our next meeting will be held on Aug 8th at East Bowling Unity Club as usual. Please feel free to bring a friend or two.

York Outing

This year the York outing was held on the 9th July. Even though the day was wet and rainy the sun did come out long enough for the people who attended to enjoy themselves. This year we had to put on 2 mini buses for the people who wanted to attend. The ambulances came from the Bradford branch and Even though the mini buses were 2 hours late, I think everyone had a good day out.

The Woodlands fete managed to raise £2900, Of which £875.93p Was raised by the prize draw.

Winner

Congratulations go to Mrs J. Blowers. Brunel housing held a gardening competition throughout the Bradford area. Mrs Blowers won first prize. The cash prize was awarded at the Cedar Court Hotel along with a certificate.

Transport

I know I keep going over this point, but, as you know ambulances are very hard to find. If you have your own transport that you could use to social meetings and outings, we would be very grateful, As this would leave the drivers free to pick up the people that do not have access to cars. It would also help the transport secretary when it comes to booking ambulances. ( And probably save a lot of headaches as well.) Thank you.
