Miss Jones

As you will now know Miss. Jones has retired from being our Welfare Officer and Mrs. Gallagher has taken over. In appreciation of the 28 years service she has given to the society, Miss Jones was presented with a Shinning star award by Mr. J Fisher the Bradford Branch Chairman. This award will also be listed in the Honours list which will be read out at the AGM in October.

I am sure that we all apreciate the good work that miss Jones has done over the many years and that she continues to help the branch with her knowledge.

Flying High

If you were at the AGM you could of put your name forward to go on a flying trip from Rufforth near York. From the hundreds of members nationaly who entered, all four of our members were selected to go flying.

The lucky members were as follows;

David Winn, Susan Lamb, Ian Verity-stevenson and Tanya Buckley. All were flying in gliders at around 2000 feet except Ian who went up in a microlight. They all said it was an amazing experience being up in the air and that given the oportunity they would love to do it again.

This story was also covered by the Bradford Telegraph and Argus Monday 30th June.
