CHAIRMANS REPORT OF
THE 46TH AGM

As usually a poor turn out for the AGM only 1 in 10 members could be bothered to turn up to this important meeting in the MS calendar. All the reports presented at the AGM by the committee members showed that the branch was running smoothly and that the administration side of things are being attended to.

One of the main events to happen at the AGM is that Miss Jones retired from being the Welfare Secretary and has been replaced by Mrs Helen Gallagher. Miss Jones gave a speech on what had happen in the 28 years she had been Welfare Secretary. It was good to hear how far the committee and branch has moved in the last 28 years. I am glad to say that Miss Jones will be staying on committee as a member to help Mrs Gallagher settle in to her new roll.

The other sad news is that Mrs Newby who has MS had to retire from the committee due to ill health, and we are now looking for some one to replace her.

In other news at the AGM they was talk about the MS Nurse and the resource centre, and the progress the branch is making on that front.

The committee has put forward the summer outing on the 5th July, but this year they will be a 48-hour clause, that is if you say you are going and for any reason you do not go and give us less then 48 hours notice you will be charged for the meal as the branch will be charged for it we will pass that bill onto you.

The Chairman would like to thank all the people and committee members who turned up to the AGM and for they continual support.

Jon Fisher (Chairman Bradford Branch)

The Story of the chair

A member of the East Bowling Unity Club had lost her leg. The club members had a collection too to buy her a wheelchair, when she was presented with the wheelchair she turned it down.

The Brewery then bought the chair off the members and presented it to us.

Mr Fisher accepts the scooter on behalf of the Bradford MS Society from Mr Harry Hill Chairman of the East Bowling Unity Club.

Mr Skipton receives his scooter and drives off into the night.
