MS Convention and A.G.M.

Firstly I would like to thank the committee for allowing me the chance to experience this convention, I was really impressed.

It was a long tiring trip to the hotel after a bit of a stand between Leeds and Birmingham. The hotel was fabulous and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was perfect and the rooms were great. The only complaint I had was we were nearly 40 miles away from the ICC. Transport was a bit of a problem but we coped.

Saturday and Sunday comprised of very early starts ( something I am not used to on weekends ). The opening speech was very informative. I attended 2 lectures on Saturday, the first was working with MS. This Covered everything from building access to disabled rights at work. The second was about Cannabis, it’s effects and possibilities. It was a very in depth discussion covering several years of research. I found this to be very informative. The A.G.M. was another thing all together. I was really surprised by the changes they want to make to branches and the way they are run. Everything from subscription charges to committee members. There was far too much for me to go into in such a short news letter. But all in all the weekend was absolutely fabulous, I didn’t realise just how much was involved. Again I thank you for this insight.

Publications

A list of publications on M.S. will be listed in the next newsletter. It was intended to be listed in this issue, but due to the latest news we have had to postpone the item till more room is available. I apologise for not being able to include it in this issue. Anyone who has information for the next news letter, please let me have it as soon as possible. Thank you.

STOP PRESS !

MS Resource Centre a possibility in Bradford.

Yes it looks like it could finally happen. The Bradford branch has been trying for the last couple of years to open a Resource centre. After viewing many locations of Varying types of building, we feel we may have the perfect spot. After viewing by all the committee, we had an emergency meeting to discuss the Location. It was decided to make a start and get a surveyor in to look at the place before we make any commitment. More information will be available as we progress.
